Kayak Rentals

If you're looking to rent a kayak, Paddle Planet is your place. All our kayak rentals are Ocean Kayak brand kayaks, including tandem and single kayaks. Our rental kayaks are very stable and can be used on flat water paddle spots, such as the Carlsbad Lagoon, Oceanside Harbor or Mission Bay, or in the ocean.

Kayak delivery is $20 for first kayak and $5 for each additional kayak.

1/2 Day is a four hour time block and All Day is from time of rental check out 30 minutes prior to closing.

Recommended ocean paddling spots are in the North County

Cardiff State Beach, La Jolla Shores, and Ponto State Beach in Carlsbad.

Keep in mind, however, that ocean paddling is only recommended when the waves are small and winds are light.

Our kayak rentals include all life jackets, paddles and seats, and helmets for those who want to paddle through the surf.

We can deliver your kayak to any beach within 10 miles of our shop for only $15.00, so even if you don't have a way to transport your rental kayak, you can easily get out on the water

You can also play in the surf with a single person kayak.

Note: Ocean Kayaking can be very challenging and we require a Guide if you are new to ocean kayaking and/or the surf is greater than two feet. Cost for a kayak guide is $50 an hour.
